At a time of momentous change and international upheaval where the nation of Israel was threatened from enemies all around the prophet Isaiah wrote 8220In returning and rest you shall be saved in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.8221 30:15 As the future seem foreclosed and hope diminished in the face of peril the theme of trust and patience shaped the spiritual life of all who meditated upon the prophecy of Isaiah: 8220But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint.8221 40:31Today such a prophecy continues to lift the heart and transform the soul for all of us who find 8220Comfort yes comfort my people8221 40:1 in Jesus the Messiah who fulfills the words of Isaiah as the Word made flesh.  
Each session begins on Tuesday at 9:30 in Graves Hall with a lecture by the Rev. Robert T. Jennings followed by small-group spiritual formation.

At a time of momentous change and international upheaval where the nation of Israel was threatened from enemies all around the prophet Isaiah wrote 8220In returning and rest you shall be saved in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.8221 30:15 As the future seem foreclosed and hope diminished in the face of peril the theme of trust and patience shaped the spiritual life of all who meditated upon the prophecy of Isaiah: 8220But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint.8221 40:31Today such a prophecy continues to lift the heart and transform the soul for all of us who find 8220Comfort yes comfort my people8221 40:1 in Jesus the Messiah who fulfills the words of Isaiah as the Word made flesh.  
Each session begins on Tuesday at 9:30 in Graves Hall with a lecture by the Rev. Robert T. Jennings followed by small-group spiritual formation.

At a time of momentous change and international upheaval where the nation of Israel was threatened from enemies all around the prophet Isaiah wrote 8220In returning and rest you shall be saved in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.8221 30:15 As the future seem foreclosed and hope diminished in the face of peril the theme of trust and patience shaped the spiritual life of all who meditated upon the prophecy of Isaiah: 8220But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint.8221 40:31Today such a prophecy continues to lift the heart and transform the soul for all of us who find 8220Comfort yes comfort my people8221 40:1 in Jesus the Messiah who fulfills the words of Isaiah as the Word made flesh.  
Each session begins on Tuesday at 9:30 in Graves Hall with a lecture by the Rev. Robert T. Jennings followed by small-group spiritual formation.

 The Bible in Our Tradition how it8217s used the basis of biblical authority ways to study the Bible and choose the right Bible for your own studies. 
 Worship our liturgy the Book of Common Prayer and its use saints and feasts in the church seasons of the church year why we do what we do in worship. 
 Discipleship models of discipleship from the New Testament qualities of a disciple spiritual disciplines. 
 Spiritual Gifts who is the Holy Spirit and what are the gifts of the Spirit? How has God gifted you to connect and serve.   
Who is this class for? Anyone who has ever wondered about the above topics. Episcopalians who went through confirmation class as a young adult and would like a refresher. Add to that the normal everyday challenges each of us faces with our families health issues financial uncertainties and you have a prescription for anxiety and spiritual turmoil.   Pastoral counselor Lee Baucom will provide principles for not just how to cope but how to actually find peace in the midst of the whirlwind that surrounds us. Using his considerable gifts of analysis story-telling and practical counsel Lee will guide participants to a new way of thinking about their circumstances and a new way of living that leads to the abundant life that Jesus promised.   
Who is this class for? Adults who are feeling a sense of uncertainty or uneasiness about their lives.
