We are Junior members of the Order of the Daughters of the King - girls and young women from 8 to 20 years of age. At 20 we may become Senior members.
Our order gives us an opportunity to grow through fun and fellowship, prayer and service. We are friends who share a common Christian commitment. This deepens our spiritual life, no matter what denomination we belong to. Although Daughters of the King is an Episcopal lay order, Junior members may belong to any church. We wear a silver cross with the initials FHS - For His Sake. For Christ's sake we serve, we pray, and we reach out to others in love.
MOTTO
For His Sake
I am but one, but I am one.
I can not do everything, but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do
What I ought to do, by the grace of God, I will do..
Lord, what do you want me to do?
Two Rules of our Order:
Prayer: We vow to pray daily for the spread of Christ's kingdom, for God's blessing on the work of the Order, and for the spiritual growth of our parish.
Service: We vow to participate in the worship, study and service of the Church, and to make a constant effort to bring others within its influence.
If you or your daughter are interested in joining this order we invite you to come to one or more of our meetings to explore the opportunity and impact of our order. We typically include a combination of fellowship, prayer, service and fun at our bi-weekly meetings. Please feel welcome to attend. Call Lisa Ewing in the church office for more information.
